Born in 1940 in the Jura mountains, Pierre Content first studied architecture, and then moved his quest towards pure shapes : rhythms, materials, structures.
In 1966, Besançon's Fine Arts School awarded him a diploma in design, and he worked as a designer with a secret wish to be a sculptor.

For many years he created his own sculptures in bronze, stone or wood on the theme of stretched curves.
"I like curves, Pierre Content said. But especially stretched curves -as opposed to slack curves- that reveal vitality and inner strength. Nature doesn't know straight lines. Neither do I !".

Resident of Catalonia and married to abstract painter Madou Mourareau, Pierre nurtures his inspiration in his studio overlooking the sea in Port-Vendres.

He also designs under the"TORI" trademark character pieces of furniture in a contemporary japanese style.
